Frequently Asked Questions

What creative services do you offer?

I offer music production, remote guitar and bass recording, audio engineering, composition, photography, FAA Part 107 remote pilot work, and creative writing. Projects can range from a single guitar or bass track to mix prep, vocal tuning, production support, landscape or promotional photography, drone imaging, screenplays, treatments, and other multimedia work.

What makes your services different?

Many projects benefit from having one person who understands several connected disciplines. I work as a musician, producer, engineer, composer, photographer, writer, and remote pilot, so I can approach a project from both the technical and creative side. Most audio work is done in a private 2,500-square-foot professional studio with Pro Tools, high-quality instruments, microphones, preamps, DI options, and editing tools including Melodyne, Auto-Tune, iZotope RX, and Waves.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. Most audio, music, production, composition, and writing services can be handled remotely. For remote recording sessions, you can send references, stems, rough mixes, charts, notes, or session files, and we can discuss direction by email or video call. Photography and drone work are available on location throughout Central Lane County, with travel possible when the project calls for it.

How much do guitar and bass recording sessions cost?

Simple DI electric guitar tracks up to 5 minutes start at $50, and simple DI electric bass tracks up to 5 minutes also start at $50. A more customized studio session for one instrument track starts around $150, depending on tone requirements, acoustic or miked amp needs, fretless bass, multiple takes, turnaround, and production involvement. A sample recording and consultation when you are unsure about fit is $50. Additional revisions, where applicable, are typically $35.

What kind of guitar and bass parts can you record?

I can record lead, rhythm, texture, groove, and song-supporting parts across rock, metal, funk, progressive, alternative, blues, jazz-influenced, acoustic, and experimental styles. Guitar work can include tight funk, heavy avant-rock tones, odd-time grooves, inventive riffs, or leads with personality. Bass work can include fretted or fretless six-string bass, fingerstyle, pick playing, slap and pop, two-hand tapping, melodic movement, and progressive groove-based parts.

What audio engineering services do you offer?

Audio services include mix prep, waveform editing, timing correction, rhythm editing, vocal tuning, vocal comping, cleanup, noise reduction, restoration, cuts, fades, mixing, mastering, ADR edits, dialogue cleanup, and post-production support. My editing approach is feel-first: tightening performances while trying to preserve the emotion, groove, and human quality of the recording.

What are the audio editing and vocal tuning starting prices?

General audio editing starts around $50-$60 per track. Multitrack mix prep for up to 24 tracks and up to 8 minutes starts at $100, typically with a 4-day turnaround and 2 revisions. Extra-fast 2-day mix prep, when available, is +$50, and an additional mix prep revision is $40. Simple vocal tuning and comping for one vocal track from up to five takes and up to 5 minutes starts at $50, typically with a 2-day turnaround and 1 revision. Additional vocal songs are $30, and additional vocal revisions are $20.

What files should I send for audio work?

Send the highest-quality audio files available, plus a rough mix, references, tempo, sample rate, bit depth, and notes about what needs to be recorded, edited, tuned, cleaned, mixed, or prepared. For multitrack work, organized stems or consolidated files are best. For vocal comping, send the main vocal takes clearly labeled. For guitar or bass recording, send the song, key, tempo, references, and any specific part or tone direction.

What audio quality do you deliver?

Audio can be recorded and edited at up to 24-bit / 96 kHz when appropriate. Delivery depends on the project, but typical files include clean WAV tracks suitable for production and mixing. DI guitar or bass sessions can include edited performance files, and custom sessions can include specific amp, microphone, or tone options when arranged in advance.

Do you produce full songs or albums?

Yes. Production work can include demos, singles, EPs, albums, remote session planning, arrangement support, creative direction, engineering coordination, editing, mix prep, and release-oriented production. Pricing is project-based because a short demo, a single, a full album, and a larger multimedia project all require different planning, time, and personnel.

Do you compose original music?

Yes. My main composition work has been focused on Squanky Kong and other original music, with strengths in modern ensemble styles such as rock, blues, funk, progressive, alternative, acoustic, electronic, ambient, experimental, and hybrid arrangements. I can also compose for film, web, games, trailers, and other media when the project calls for themes, cues, atmosphere, transitions, or music that supports visual storytelling.

What photography services are available?

Photography services include landscapes, real estate, architecture, live music, bands and artists, film sets, portraits, headshots, modeling, promotional imagery, PR, and marketing needs. Photo editing is also available, including Photoshop adjustments, color and contrast improvement, touch-ups, restoration, object removal, and cleanup. Local on-location photo bundles with selected edited shots start around $80, with larger sessions quoted by scope.

Are you certified for drone work?

Yes. I am an FAA Part 107 certified Remote Pilot. Remote pilot services can include aerial photography, 4K video, visual inspection, surveying support, agriculture, communications, real estate, events, advertising, film, and other commercial visual work. Basic flight service starts around $100, while complex airspace, permits, travel, advanced imaging, editing, inspections, or extended flight time are quoted by scope.

What creative writing services do you offer?

Creative writing services can include original screenplays, screenplay polish, treatments, concepts, articles, blog posts, essays, opinion pieces, marketing copy, social media content, and related creative consulting. Pricing is project-based because format, length, deadline, intended use, and revision needs vary widely.

How do revisions work?

Revision terms depend on the service. Simple guitar and bass DI sessions typically include 1 revision. Mix prep includes 2 revisions at the starting package level. Simple vocal tuning includes 1 revision. Additional revisions can be quoted or billed separately depending on the service, scope, and whether the request changes the original direction.

How do I get a quote?

Send a short description of the project, the service you need, the deadline, the current state of the material, reference examples, expected deliverables, and any budget range you already have in mind. For now, email is the best way to start. I can then suggest a practical scope, starting price, or custom quote.
